About DiamApps
DiamApps is an independent app studio. We build native apps for iPhone, iPad and Mac – everything from the first sketch to the final polish comes from one pair of hands.
The diamond in the name is a standard, not decoration: clear structure, a clean cut, lasting value. This page explains what that means in everyday use.
Craft
How we work
Three principles apply to every app, whether it checks VAT numbers, displays statutes or plots functions.
Fully native
Every app is built with Swift and SwiftUI, directly on Apple’s own technologies. There is no cross-platform layer standing between you and your device.
Tested on real devices
The simulator is a starting point, not proof. Every release is installed on real iPhones and used there before it counts as finished.
Honesty on principle
Each app has a version history that states plainly what the current release cannot do yet. You should know exactly where an app stands.
Design principle
Privacy is not a setting
Privacy is built in from the start rather than added later. That is why no DiamApp contains anything you would first have to switch off.
No account, no sign-up
You download the app and start working. There is no registration, no tracking and no advertising – and therefore nothing about you that could be analysed.
No servers of our own
There is no DiamApps server holding your data. Whatever you enter, calculate or highlight stays on your device.
iCloud stays your decision
Syncing between your devices is always a switch you turn on yourself. It runs solely through your personal iCloud, never through anyone else’s machines.
Family trait
Your app, your look
All DiamApps share the same design layer. You set the app up to suit you, rather than the other way round.
Background and type
A separate background image from your photo library for each area – in DiamVAT and DiamLaw also the typeface and text size you prefer.
Cards and colours
Card colour and transparency are adjustable, in DiamVAT the corner radius as well – alongside seven accent colours from deep blue to graphite.
A choice of app icons
Several icons in gemstone colours, in DiamMath additionally with a day and a night version. Your Home Screen, your choice.

The cards on the app’s start page can be put in the order you actually work in.

DiamVAT
VAT under control
Verifies VAT identification numbers (Umsatzsteuer-Identifikationsnummer, USt-IdNr.) through the official interfaces and records every check as a PDF report. EC Sales Lists (Zusammenfassende Meldung), advance VAT returns (Umsatzsteuer-Voranmeldung) and annual returns are prepared right up to submission via ELSTER, the German tax authorities’ online portal, on the Mac – in this version solely as a test submission to the tax administration’s test system.

Statutes and case law offline
German federal statutes and EU legal acts in a calm reading view, entirely without an internet connection. Add to that a case-law search, highlights, notes and a study mode with reviewed exam schemes.

DiamMath
Plot, calculate, understand
Plots functions on a true-to-scale graph, shows surfaces in three dimensions and solves systems of equations with a solution path you can follow. Everything is calculated locally on the device, with no network connection at all.
